Good evening. I was disappointed when I was unable to locate New Leader Essentials training on the Blackland Prairie Website. But after more research I realized none of the districts had this training scheduled in the near future. As a new Assistant Den Leader and soon to be Wolf Den Leader I am anxious to be trained. Please let me know when is the earliest I can attend this necessary training. Thank you.

You should be hearing something in the next few days regarding the schedule. We been finalizing some of the dates.

I believe "New Leader Essentials" has been replaced with "This is Scouting", available online at the BSA website www.scouting.org/Applications/MyScoutingFull.aspx , choose E-Learning. I also found the old NLE training online at www.rcscouts.org/nle/nle.htm .

The BSA website says the New Leader Essentials was replaced with "This is Scouting" available online at the BSA website E-Learning page www.scouting.org/Applications/MyScoutingFull.aspx. I found the old NLE training offered online at www.rcscouts.org/Training/nle_online/tabid/102/Default.aspx .

NLE was replaced by the online training THIS IS SCOUTING. It has been coming for about a year. The change was needed since NLE had not been updated for a long time.

There is a Cub Scout Leader Specific training scheduled for April 25th if you need position specific training. It is the latest training release (from June last year) and includes 2 new group modules - Intro to Cub Scouting and How to Have Fun.

I was trying to figure out what training is appropriate for committee members and as far as I can tell it it new leader essentials and leader specific training. Is there another one or more that I've missed?

Committee Members should be trained at a minimum in Fast Start, Youth Protection, This is Scouting (the replacement for New Leaders Essentials) and the Leader Specific Training.

However, you can take any training that you think would assist you in better understanding Scouting in general. You are not limited by your job title or your role – all classes are open for anyone to take. If in Cub Scouting – there is Cubmaster and the Den Leader Training. Whereas, if in Boy Scouts – there is ILOS, Scoutmaster training and many more. Not to leave out Venturing – there is Venture Leader training.
