What: Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS)

Why: Second‐half companion course to SM/ASM LST Course; this is an overnight camping/training event.

When: Saturday, March 3, 2012 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. AND Friday, March 9 ‐ 10, 2012 (overnight portion)

6:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (ish) **MUST ATTEND BOTH PORTIONS.

Where: Saturday, March 3, 2012 @ Pflugerville LDS Ward Building, 700 N. Heatherwilde Blvd. Pflugerville

Friday, March 9 ‐ 10, 2012 @ Lost Pines Scout Reservation (required to stay overnight)

Cost: $35.00 (includes the cost of training materials and food

Prerequisites: MUST ATTEND SM/ASM LST before attending this course!

Topics include: Knots, Fire Building (if no burn ban), First Aide, Cooking, Map & Compass, and other

outdoor skills needed to help get a new Scout up to the First Class rank ….lots more!!!

What to bring: Your Class A uniform, BSA Medical Form, a pen, folding chair, Boy Scout Handbook

(suggested), tent, sleeping bag, raincoat, mess kit, eating utensils, coffee mug,

flashlight, compass, personal items, etc. (Basically, what you need for a typical Troop

campout!). *more information will come in emails.
